An the latest Brand Performance Check (BPC), the annual audit conducted by the Fair Wear (FW), VAUDE has achieved excellent results and taken the lead in strengthening its position as a "Leader". "Leaders" are brands that have achieved the best possible category at the FW thanks to their high level of commitment. VAUDE has had this status since 2015.
At the Brand Performance Check 2019, VAUDE achieved a benchmarking score of 88% (comparison 2017: 94%). The percentage decline is due to the fact that the Fair Wear regularly makes the requirements stricter to ensure that leading member companies also improve continuously. Compared to last year, the indicators in the area of living wages and training measures were significantly tightened. VAUDE is one of the first companies to be audited under the new indicators and has currently achieved the best rating, even compared to companies assessed under last year's less stringent indicators.

In March, an FW team was at VAUDE's headquarters in Germany to conduct the annual Brand Performance Check. During this audit, it was examined to what extent VAUDE as a customer had a positive or negative influence on the conditions in the supply chain through its own processes. The period from January to December 2018 was evaluated.
In the final report, VAUDE was particularly praised for its great progress in the areas of monitoring action plans, consolidating the producer base and evaluating wages. In addition, it was again demonstrated that 100% of the producers in risk countries are audited.
As an FW affiliate, VAUDE is committed to ensuring that all production facilities comply with the stringent FW Code of Labor Practices and so fulfil the highest standards for social just working conditions.
Independent audits and evaluations
Fair Wear regularly carries out audits of individual production facilities. In the annual Brand Performance Check, all measures taken by VAUDE to implement and improve social standards are evaluated on a performance benchmarking system and disclosed.
